Sunburst

Oooooohhhh. The Sun is here at last. After having a rain-swept weekend the past days, the sun makes up for its absence today.

So I woke up and I saw the rays of the sun flitting through the branches of the trees and into my room. It dawned on me that I need to get up and put the laundry to dry out in the sun. What could be more an efficient way than to dry your clothes by soaking them under the sun. You can save energy by not using the spin-dryer or the fan (if you may) so you can it's energy-efficient. Plus, the UltraViolet (UV) rays from the sun have been proven to have antibacterial properties.

When I got there at the sundeck at the top of the building, I saw a neighbor, rushing her laundry. She was wishing that the sun would stay longer. And just as soon as she said that, we heard the loud crooning of a neighbor's karaoke. Guess what song was playing?

You got it...YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE...yeah...you could just imagine our laughter.

It wasn't the Johnny Cash version. But there was some bossa nova touch to it. I wonder what group played that version? They put some good spin to it. Here's another good version of the song. It's by Copeland. And of course, there's a Barney version.

Do you know that this song is actually recognized by the State of Louisiana as one of their official songs? Crazy cool huh? =D I learned about it through this. They have actually two official songs. One is You Are My Sunshine. The other one is Give Me Louisiana. Now you decide which one is better. =D

By the way, I just got back from the roof deck and had my dried laundry back into my closet.

There's something about the sun's warmth that I am digging today. It's like a premonition for a good summer next year. Funny, I got more excited with summer than Christmas. Well...it's just a phase. My excitement for Christmas will pick up sometime soon. =D
