The Blogger That Never Was

So I just got a new ASUS Vivobook. Not the latest model. Haha. I scrimp on just about everything I could scrimp on, yeah? Anyways, I needed this for a part-time job so I decided to get one. And yeah, I need that part-time job. Why? Because I am plotting to take over the world and I need to earn money to do that. LOL. No I mean, these days, you really need multiple sources of income to get by.

And because I have a new lap top, I thought "why not revisit this blog?". After fumbling for my password for about three minutes, I got in and started reading my previous posts. I ended up cringing at my posts. Hahahaha. What was I thinking posting my boring existence?

This got me thinking about reinventing my blog and of course, it will probably take more than one post to do so. I will probably need to throw in more effort to get those creative juices flowing. More importantly, I need to make conscious changes to this blog if I want things to pick up. I think a throwback requires that I need to learn from it. I have identified some things I need to work on and have listed them down here.

First, I haven't been the quickest to adopt to the changes online. So I haven't really capitalized on the trends, That's a flaw I need to work on. Most of the updates I get, are from my social media feeds. I don't think there is nothing wrong with that. But you know how fake news have proliferated and how social media have been used to manipulate social behaviors? I should consider that too. So maybe, I need to balance out my sources if I want to really understand the true trend and not just the artificial trends that social media is upselling sometimes.

Second, I have been yakking and yakking and yakking and yakking. And frankly, even I get bored with my yakking sometimes. So I need to do something about adding more content to this blog. I know, I need to put more visuals. And to do that, I need to upgrade my skills, photography skills, editing skills, videography skills. Yeah, all skills needed to make this blog more engaging.

And speaking of reader engagement, I should envision a blog that people could relate to. I mean, lately all that has been going viral has an element of being relatable. If I decide to tackle a social issue, it should be an issue that affects a vast number of people. If I decide to post a video, it should be a video that could remind them of past experiences so they could give comments and maybe advice.

Lastly, I need to perpetuate change. A blog is just a blog until it starts to move people to action. At this stage in my life, I am looking to do more things that will leave lasting impact. Ultimately, the goal is to motivate people to go out of their way to learn new things and to do something about this information. If it could create a mass action, that would make me the blogger that I never was but always hoped to be.

I don't expect anyone to read this by the way. But this is just one exercise of many more to come to keep me going until I become bigger than my own personality. There is no big bang here, just small ripples that I hope to create bigger ripples. =D
