How's 27 for You?

A rolling stone gathers no moss.

That's Publius Syrus for you. This old proverbs comes to mind, five months after I turned 27 and I realized I haven't really accomplished anything substantial in life. And no I am not being hard on myself. I am not being pessimistic. This is the reality I am faced with at the moment.

Throughout my 27 years of existence, I wonder if I had live my life enough to make a difference in this world. And I can't answer YES for sure. And that's what really bothers me.

You see...I haven't really been afraid of dying. I've always thought, that everybody dies at the right time. Even second chances at life are predetermined. Of course, this may not sound like the Chase you've heard in the past months coming but I've been undergoing some spiritual revival of some sort. Anyways, what I've been most afraid of is not having contributed much to make this world a better place.

And so the question stands...How's 27 for you?

If it has been easy to handle, I certainly envy you. Either you've had the best share of fate or you've had done just the right things to make it through easily. The question is, have you learned enough? Maybe you've learned fast enough which made it easier for you. But if the world has been given to you on a silver platter, then maybe it's time to check what's beyond your comfort zone.

If it was just OK, I still do envy you. Not too difficult, not easy either. You are probably living a balanced life. If that is the case, then you just have the right amount of drama, comedy, action and adventure. Or...maybe...you're split in the middle cause that's where you've been at all along. This makes for a safe life for you but really...is it what you really want? Don't you wish sometimes you've done something really weird in your life which you could laugh at when you're a little older and wiser?

If you've the most difficult times, I still envy you. If through it all you've picked up lessons along the way, then this is the best time to make things work. While you're vigor has not totally left your body and while there is still that youthful spirit in you...keep going and this time turn things around. The reward for all the hardships you've encountered in the past could just be around the corner.

If you come to think of it, 27 is just a number. But really 27 isn't just a number. It's represents all the chances, opportunities we've had. Whether we've missed them and made them count in our favor is something we should be thinking about.

How's 27 for you? You might want to ask yourself.
